What is Work Based Learning?

Work Based Learning (WBL) is defined as "sustained interactions between industry or community professionals in a real workplace setting."  There are a variety of ways which students can participate in WBL experiences.  These experiences will help them navigate their career pathway and become better prepared to enter the workforce upon graduation.  Below are some examples of ways WBL is happening in the Alliance Career Tech Planning District (ACTPD).

Internship/Job Placement

Being enrolled in career-tech, ACTPD students can work at your business without limitation.

Simulated Work Experiences

Local businesses can visit our labs for skill demonstrations to provide feedback to our students.

School Based Enterprises

ACTPD proudly offers our community full salon/spa services, and automotive services.

Real-World Problem Solving

Local businesses can provide problem-solving tasks that replicate real-world scenarios for our students to resolve.
